Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body which is found in the deep layers of the skin known as the dermis, and one of its functions is to keep skin smooth and healthy by helping it retain water. As we age our body’s production of hyaluronic acid gradually declines, resulting in visible signs of ageing.
Natural lines and wrinkles deepen; lips lose their fullness; lines appearing around the mouth and nose area, and cheeks lose volume giving them a sunken and hollow appearance.
The semi-permanent fillers provide a safe, long lasting and natural looking result.
Length of results depend on the product used which will be discussed in your consultation.
I have completed advanced dermal filler training and varies masterclasses, therefore the areas that can be treated include lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, under the eyes, noses, nose to mouth lines, mouth to chin lines and top lip lines.
I offer packages for dermal fillers which can be used on lips, chin, cheek, jaw, nasal folds and marionettes, prices can be found on our price list.
Dermal filler in the cheeks is a very popular treatment, it can be used here to restore volume loss and sagging skin. It can help reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds and jowls by lifting the cheek bones to make them more defined and contoured giving a more youthful appearance. I would recommend starting with 2ml (1ml each side) with cheeks to achieve a noticeable difference. I can use a mixture of needle and cannula technique to give you the best results as well mixing dermal fillers with different consistencies. Most people experience some mild swelling post treatment and results last 12 months on average.
Dermal filler can be carefully placed along the jawline to reduce the appearance of jowls and contour the face giving a more youthful appearance. This can be done using a needle or a cannula technique which reduces the amount of bruising and swelling. I would always recommend starting with 3ml if you want to notice a difference as the jaw has a larger surface area and therefore requires more product.
Dermal filler can used to reshape, soften or lengthen the chin balancing the facial profile and restoring the golden ratio. I would recommend starting with either 1ml or 2ml to achieve a noticeable difference.
Dermal filler can be used to smooth out the nose and make it appear smaller. Filler can be used to improve the shape of the tip and bridge where surgery is not desired. A consultation is required before this treatment where we can do a full assessment of your nasal profile and consider your nose in relation to your overall facial structure. We will also look at your chin and lip projection to ensure balance and symmetry. The treatment consists is number of small injections in to the soft tissue of the nose and takes no longer than 30 minutes. The results are instant and lasts around 12-18 months on average. Liquid Rhinoplasty can cause some swelling and bruising which is why I advise a follow up appointment around 4 weeks post treatment to access if any further treatment is needed and to review how you have healed. Dermal filler in the nose is classed as a high-risk area, this is why it is important to only visit highly trained professionals.
Dark circles and hollowing under the eyes are a giveaway of age, tear trough treatment is a simple procedure that refreshes and rejuvenates tired eyes. This treatment uses a specifically designed dermal filler called Teoysal Redensity 2 and a cannula to carefully place dermal filler along the hollows under the eyes. This treatment is not suitable for people who already have fluid around their eyes as dermal filler can attract more fluid to these clients and give an undesirable look. This treatment generally has little to no swelling due to minimal injections while using a cannula. I recommend coming for a follow up/review 4 weeks post treatment to access the healing, results will last on average 12 months.
Dermal filler can be placed in the lines around the mouth to smooth out deep lines and restore a youthful appearance. Here we can use several types of filler and technique to give the best results, this can be discussed with you prior to your appointment.
Frequently Asked Questions
This is a question I get asked most often and can be a hard one to answer when I can not see you in person as every individual is different. Therefore, a consultation is always recommended if you are unsure what to choose, where we can discuss your desired outcome and what would be best suited for you.
Some mild discomfort may be experienced. A strong anaesthetic numbing cream is applied to the area 15-20 minutes prior to injecting. Inside the filler is lidocaine which begins working once injecting starts which can ease discomfort. I ensure you are comfortable throughout your treatment.
One of the great things about dermal fillers is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Dependent on the product used dermal filler can last between 6 – 18 months.
Everybody is different and lifestyle factors can contribute to the longevity of the dermal filler. Factors which can affect this include individual skin type, skin condition, area treated, lifestyle, age and choice of filler. Most people receive a top up at around 6-9 months to maintain their desired look. Top ups are charged the same as the initial treatment.
Like with any procedure there are risks and side effects associated with hyaluronic acid fillers, but these are in general very rare.
These issues should be discussed with your aesthetic practitioner to ensure you know he or she is properly qualified and that you are in safe hands.
All HA fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyalase. Hyalase is injected into the area of dermal filler and breaks down the HA connected to the tissue, which then passes through your body. You can have your filler dissolved out of choice if you were unhappy or if a complication occurred. This can all be discussed in a review with your practitioner, your satisfaction is my main priority.
Prior to treatment whether this be on a separate day or before your treatment you will undergo a consultation where details about your medical history are obtained in order to confirm suitability. Before proceeding you will be asked to sign a consent form and will be given the full aftercare. Any questions you may have will be answered in this time and injecting will only go ahead if you are 1005 happy.
