Here at Victoria Rose Aesthetics we use the well-known brand, Skinbase for our Microdermabasion facial machine. SkinBase™ is the leading microdermabrasion treatment and winner of Best Advanced Treatment 2018 and 2019 at the National Beauty Awards.
Younger, healthier looking skin
The SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. We use a handset to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion.
The SkinBase™ Facial is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.
The vacuum action during The SkinBase™ Facial works to stimulate the production of collagen, something we lose gradually as we age. This stimulation and skin’s renewal improves the condition of the skin’s surface – helping to target:
- Ageing skin,
- Stretch marks,
- Dry and dehydrated skin
- Acne scarring
- Blackheads and congested skin
At Victoria Rose Aesthetics we offer an express, luxury and Alumier peel microdermabrasion treatment. We also offer a package of 1 luxury and 7 express microdermabrasions.

Frequently Asked Questions
For anti-ageing treatments, all skin types and tones from ages 28 and up will benefit the most from The SkinBase™ Facial. However, for problematic skin such as Acne Scarring all age groups can benefit. Under 16 year olds will need a parental co-sign however.
The SkinBase™ Facial is progressive rather than aggressive, so skin layers are gently removed over a course of treatments. With treatments ideally being carried out every 7 – 10 days, each treatment can be increased in intensity. This will make sure the microdermabrasion exfoliation reaches deeper layers of the skin and allows for acne scarring to be removed, pigmentation lifted and fine lines smoothed.
We recommend a course of 8 treatments weekly which is why we offer this as a package which can be found on our price list. Some people with deeper scaring may require more but this will be discussed with your therapist. We would then recommend a monthly maintenance appointment once you have finished your course.
Microdermabrasion treatments have gradually become the first choice for many people who are searching for an acne cure that helps correct acne scarring.
The SkinBase Facial safely and effectively reduces acne scarring, calms red and uneven skin tone, leaving healthy looking, smooth skin. During a Microdermabrasion Facial, a fine jet of abrasive particles will be passed over your skin, abrading the blockages and then hygienically vacuuming them away. The deepness of the exfoliation can be increased with each subsequent treatment, which allows the therapist to deeply clear out your pores over the course of your sessions. More information on this can be found here..
The SkinBase Facial™ was designed as a skin pigmentation treatment and can therefore vastly improve the appearance of facial pigmentation and skin blemishes.
Regular microdermabrasion treatments are proven to show significant benefits as a skin pigmentation treatment, working on sun-damaged skin and to help remove unwanted facial pigmentation blemishes.
Yes, microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types on all areas of the body and face.
No, The SkinBase Facial™ is fantastic on pigmentation, lines and stretch marks anywhere on the body.
After the treatment, the skin may feel tight with mild redness. Therefore it is important that you use a good moisturiser as depending on your skin type some people can feel a little dry. These effects normally subside within 36 hours of treatment.
You will see results immediately and with each subsequent treatment your skin will continue to look progressively better.
Crystal microdermabrasion uses a sterile compound with zero risk of allergic reaction. Your SkinBase therapist will provide a patch test on the back of your forearm for added reassurance.
Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people who have deep scars, active keloids, undiagnosed lesions, a recent herpes outbreak, warts on the face, skin cancer, active acne (stages 3 and 4), sunburns or active rosacea, eczema, an auto-immune system disorder, or unstable diabetes. Pregnant women should not undergo microdermabrasion. Individuals with deep scars, facial creases, or other moderate-to-severe skin defects should consider a stronger treatment such as a chemical peel or IPL skin resurfacing.
Lasting effects are dependant on proper skin care. Additional treatments will renew your youthful appearance. A series of six treatments over a few months is recommended for best results, followed by regular maintenance treatments.
Most people find the treatment very relaxing and will feel a mild suction feeling, however if you have more sensitive skin you may feel your skin feels tighter and hotter but this will subside quickly.
